Next.

so heres a few photos from my professional studies report I'm doing for uni,  i decided to do a shop report on the store NEXT.  in children's wear.   within this report i will  be talking about what the best selling items are for this time of year.

time of year considerations, is there anything at the time of doing the report that might influence shop layouts and differences. ill also send out my online survey which will collect a range of different answers to my questions from a range of different age groups online, giving my survey a varied outcome.

Repeat Pattern paint out 1

So this week we've been starting to paint out our colour blocking of repeat designs in the studio, the purpose of this is to recognise which colours work best with your design, here's a few step by step takes I took along the way. Not very analytical when doing blog posts usually, but i feel for this one, i loved the concept idea, but felt i couldn't excel the full look of the pattern, maybe if i had have used two a1 sheets of paper to see the print on a larger scale this might have made it easier to see as a visual, but in the meantime, I'm still happy with my painting and colour experimentation skills, onto my finals next week ! exciting!

Owens and Kim INTERN !

AHHHHHHHH EXCITED TO HAVE  THIS EXCITING OPPORTUNITY.
Thrilled to have this opportunity this week working with designers Owens & Kim.  So today was my first day and everyone was just lovely,  helped with header lining, seaming prints to make garment fronts, steamed, washed ironed, made around 32 cups of tea, and .... had birthday cake!
for a first day i couldn't have had it any better.

Cant wait to get back in there tomorrow! for more washing, drying and drinking endless amounts of tea.. LIFE IS GOOD PEOPLE.

London - round 2

LONDON- CHELSEA  HARBOR.

So this week we've been to London, seeking all sorts of lovely research for the up and coming project! Visiting museums , chealsea harbour design centre, design shops, and just enjoying some beautifull sights !

Here's a few photos from  Chelsea Harbor, which was incredibly inspirational. Looking at all the up and coming new fabrics within the industry was exciting. I loved the way they set out fabric designs in their colour blocks, which made it easy and asthetically pleasing to the eye as you walked into the show room.

Painting ? A1

So paintings in progress last week, A1 was a little scary if i'm honest !  Concept made up from stone cavings and floral. London this week to get some more insperational photography to put towards my primary research for the project ahead! which scarily is my last project of level 4 !       How time flys !
