Home made trends?

Reaearching trends and found this really interesting app for my iphone! 'Polyvore' this app is used for live feeds of new trends or what is seen to be a trend by an individual person, here people can create trend setting pages for others to see world wide. You can also click on the individual item of clothing or interior that you like which you will then be told the price and where you can go on to purchase the item. Although this is'nt form a big company i feel like its relevant to what i have been looking at, on a more personal point of view, heres a few examples of what is posted daily!

TRENDS -WGSN

Looking at trends today! WGSN  holds many different styles, trends and colour directions throughout their website their phillosophy is to provide a range of trends for the up and coming years to provide to large companies all over the world. When looking i found  instantly drawm to this up and coming trend filled with  pretty colour's used in for the S/S 15 Junior Girls' Macro Trend. I find the dark undertones throughout each colour interesting (giving them a musky feel), meaning the colours are bright yet do not have the 'straight from the tin look' . i also really like the way the Pantone strip is situated at the bottom of the page to show the exact colour and code shown in the photos.

Joules.

Joules as a company isn't normally a company i'd associate with stationary and giftware. But when looking properly i've found this new collection by joules and i LOVE it. i see joules as a professional fashion company, and see this as a nice little extra. I really like the contrasting colour palates with the bright block colours to create the horse/animal and floral motifs.  heres my favourites..

oh and i've also included some gorgeous interior soft furnishing designs.

ENJOY.

Laura Lees.

hi everyone, looking for interesting makers and designers to do with giftware today, looking at Laura lees i found i've been instantly drawn to her playful colour schemes filled with child like drawings. her work gives a qwerky edge to the typical gift products you might see. making them more appealing to a wider audience. Laura makes a varied range of products ranging from gift, home wear, accessories and kids toys.Although all these products are very different they all hold similar qualities and are easy distinguishable.
heres some of the work of hers i find most interesting, including gift.

Teapots,cups,saucers,watches,bows,jugs and cutlery.

a little glimpse of what i've been doing in the studio today! getting right into this one! love the pretty outcomes i had created within layout by suspending some of the objects, and placing them onto cartridge paper to create an interesting composition, then photographing the sets to then draw from. Looking closely at detail ill be back with updated photos of the work i've produced from these photographs!

Preen

Spring summer 2013 collection at preen! i think the geometric shapes work perfectly on the contrasting white background. short cut pieces of fabric to give the overall garment a feel of miss match, showing different lengths, which could maybe be a way of an individual picking an individual design for a spersific body shape.

Housemate had a Cath Kidston mug out tonight, and felt instantly inspired!  i love the ditzy floral busy fabrics, combined with soft pastel colourings and poka-dots, felt her work really relates to the type of work i'm doing in the studio at the moment. from mobile phone cases, bedding clothing and handbags  the Kidston range holds a vintage feel throughout these designs. heres some of her work i find most gorgeous!!

Jigsaw

Tonight i thought id look at something other than an item of clothing, e.g- trousers, tops, skirts, coats and jumpers. instead i thought id look into the accessories available throughout the jigsaw range. after looking for several minutes i came across these silk blend  and wool fabric scarfs which i instantly became attracted to. each scarf holds new colour schemes and patternation.

Eley Kishimoto

Bold. Beautiful.. Bright.

What a perfect combination, fell In love with the new autumn winter
13/14 collection for Eley kishimoto.  The bold prints are the statement additive to this years
collection!, i specifically like the skirt design, i like how the design is done in a pixelated way.
i like how this shows the versatility between a perfect sharp image and a texturised digital
 image with pixels.

Etro

hi guys! home for the weekend thought id get out the laptop and have a good scout at some of the BIG companies tonight, came across a stunning autumn winter collection 'Imaginary Prospects'  By Etro clothing, a quote from the website reads -

'TRADITIONAL PAISLEY MOTIFS TAKE ON A CONTEMPORARY, DIGITAL TWIST THIS AUTUMN: A FRESH AND ELEGANT TOUCH FOR THE PARTY SEASON'

I love the blocks of geometric shapes adding dashes of colour throughout the garment, black statement rectangles to break up the what could be mind boggling fabric.
beautiful.
