hartlepool museum

Hello again! Drawing from objects in the Hartlepool Museum (On 14th oct), found it interesting looking at all the old artefacts from different areas of the world, and hartlepool of course. i found i was strictly drawn to the nautical themed objects. I also am finding within my work that getting the composition and the theme right is vital.

Claire baker.

Claires work is just stunningly beautiful.. no other words to describe her passion for surface design, claire shows many different techniques throughout her work using them in different context's and places, including - Fashion, Embroidery,Tableware, greetings cards and many more.

Around the world designs.

Looking through designers guild and finding these playful children's wall-coverings, in the collection from around the world wall-coverings. I love the girly back drops with lashes of colour. Interesting how such simple designs can work so well within the industry, so who's up for the less is more approach ?

Claire Coles

Claire as a designer has influenced my work in previous years in many ways, I'm intreegued by the way she makes one off embroidered wall panels and stunning wall murials with vintage papers. Her attention to detail doesn't go un-missed.  Influenced by florals and fauna Claire's work shines through with her passion for surface design to be something other than a flat canvas.
